Truly Judy’s Uncommon Oldie Of the Week takes us to KMEN 129 Radio’s K\/Men-Dous Ten in San Bernardino, California, to mid April, 1962.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My artist of the week was born Jean-Philippe Smet in Paris, France.\u00a0 He was considered by some to have been the French Elvis Presley. \u00a0<\/strong>He appeared on the Ed Sullivan show with Connie Francis, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience opened for him during their very first concert in 1966.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Relatively unknown outside of France, he earned the nickname of <\/strong>“the biggest rock star you’ve never heard of” in English-speaking countries. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
