Truly Judy’s Uncommon Oldies takes us to WIL 1430 AM in St. Louis, Missouri, to the Silver Dollar Survey in late October, 1962.<\/p>\n

My survey artist, Trade Martin, was born in Union City, New Jersey, and he worked with Johnny Power in the late 1950s.\u00a0 They recorded as Johnny & the Jokers, and the two launched the Rome Records label which was active from 1960 until 1962.\u00a0 They signed artists such as The Earls and Del & the Escorts. \u00a0Trade\u00a0played all of the backing instruments for the recordings, and he later released some of his own material on the Coed label. \u00a0He also spent nearly thirty years in production and arrangement.\u00a0 He worked with such artists as Epic Splendor, Ellie Greenwich, Lesley Gore, The Tokens and Ricky Nelson, and he wrote several songs that were covered by artists such as Dusty Springfield and B. B. King.\u00a0 He also wrote several film scores.<\/p>\n

Coming in at #24 on the WIL 1430 AM survey in St. Louis, Missouri, in October 1962, up from #31 the previous week, here is Trade Martin with a song I just love called That Stranger Used To Be My Girl on the Coed label.<\/p>\n
