This week, Truly Judy\u2019s Uncommon Oldies finds us at station WWIN, Radio 140 at Baltimore\u2019s Authentic Music Survey in December, 1963.<\/p>\n

My survey group, The Crampton Sisters, were Peggy and Pat. They grew up in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Peggy had won many talent contests, by age ten. After high school, she attended the prestigious Julliard School Of Music in New York City and studied classical piano. She studied under Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Oscar Peterson and others. It was then that she and sister Pat formed the Crampton Sisters and had quite a local following. They even performed on American Bandstand.<\/p>\n

My survey song was originally recorded in 1939 by Benny Goodman and Jimmy Dorsey. It was written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. The Crampton Sisters\u2019 version peaked at #92 on Billboard\u2019s Hot 100 in 1964.<\/p>\n
