Hi everyone. Truly Judy’s Uncommon Oldies takes us to WOHO in Toledo, Ohio, 1470 On Your Dial, to Wally Wo-Ho\u2019s Tip Top Tunes Survey from August, 1963.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My survey artist, Little Eva, was born Eva Narcissus Boyd in Belhaven, North Carolina.  As a teen, she worked as a maid and earned extra money as a babysitter for songwriters Carole King and Gerry Goffin.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1962, Little Eva recorded the Goffin\/King tune written for her called The Loco-Motion.  The song climbed all the way to #1 on Billboard\u2019s Hot 100, sold over a million copies and was awarded a gold disc.  It also reached #2 in the UK.  Several other Top 40 hits followed including Keep Your Hands Off My Baby, which is my favorite by her, Let\u2019s Turkey Trot and Swinging On a Star, recorded with Big Dee Irwin.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My survey song Bubbled Under Billboard\u2019s Hot 100 at #101 in 1963.  On Wally Wo-Ho\u2019s Tip Top Tunes Survey, in Toledo, Ohio, in August of 1963 at #27, here is Little Eva with What I Gotta Do (To Make You Jealous) on the Dimension label.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
