Hi everyone. Truly Judy’s Uncommon Oldies takes us to KBLA, 1500 On Your Dial, in Burbank, California to November, 1965.
My survey artists, The Vejtables, were a Northern California group. One of their singers, Jan Errico, who would later change her name to Jan Ashton because it sounded more British, was also the drummer of the group. She would eventually leave the group and join The Mojo Men who had a big hit with Stephen Stills’ song, Sit Down I Think I Love You.
The Vejtables were part of radio station KYA’s sponsored concert at San Francisco Civic Auditorium in 1965. The line-up also included The Beau Brummels, The Byrds, Paul Revere & the Raiders and the Rolling Stones. They also played the Cow Palace in San Francisco, as well.
On the KBLA survey in Burbank, California, in November, 1965, here are The Vejtables with The Last Thing On My Mind, a tune written by Tom Paxton and on the Autumn label.
