Hi everyone. Truly Judy’s Uncommon Oldies takes us to CKLW, 800 AM, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to their Radio 80 survey from the fall of 1964.
My survey artists, The Orlons, were formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1960. Len Barry, the lead singer of the Dovells, was a high school friend who encouraged them to audition with Cameo Records, and the group was signed after several auditions.
Between 1962 and 1963, the group’s records, The Wah Watusi, Don’t Hang Up, South Street, Not Me and Cross Fire! all charted in the Top 20.
On the CKLW Radio 80 survey in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, in the fall of 1964, at #12, here is Goin’ Places, by the Orlons, a nice B side of their record Knock! Knock! (Who’s There) and on the Cameo label.
