This week on Truly Judy’s Uncommon Oldies, we go to CKLG Radio 73 in Vancouver, British Columbia, to November 1964.

My artists of the week, Simon Scott and the LeRoys, hailed from Great Britain, although the lead singer was born in India to British parents. The group signed to Parlophone Records in 1964 and appeared on the same bill as the Rolling Stones in 1963. In 1964, they were a support act to the Rolling Stones on their 1964 UK tour along with the Mojos and Mike Berry.

Simon Scott and the LeRoys cut two singles in 1964. My survey tune of the week bubbled under at #128 nationally here in the US. During the week of November 28th in 1964, though, the song was #33 on CKLG Radio 73’s survey.

On the Parlophone label in the UK, the Imperial label here in the US and on the Capitol label in Canada, here is Move It Baby by Simon Scott & the LeRoys!
