This week’s edition of Truly Judy’s Uncommon Oldies takes us to radio station WOKY 920 AM in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to March, 1966.

My survey group’s name, The Liverpool Set, showed their obvious influence by the British Merseybeat sound.  One of the members was from Newark, England, but the others were from Toronto, Canada.

One of the members was formerly of the Mynah Birds, a group he was in with singer Rick James.  Another member would go on to join the group, The Townsmen, after he left the band.

On the WOKY Milwaukee, Wisconsin, late March survey at #35, here are the Liverpool Set with Oh Gee Girl, from 1966, on Columbia Records.
